As a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of construction equipment on-site at various job locations. This is a field-based role that requires strong mechanical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders, rollers, skid steers, and trucks.
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative repairs on equipment in the field.
Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel engine systems.
Accurately document all work performed, parts used, and labor time.
Communicate effectively with site supervisors and equipment managers regarding status and repairs.
Ensure work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized field service truck and parts inventory.
Respond to emergency breakdowns as needed, including after-hours service calls.
